Character names were once such a chore for me as a writer. Trying to capture that perfect name which when you read it told you everything you needed to know about the character. Of course there is always those names which were so owned by other publications that you could transfer those qualities to your own child and know that your audience would get it.

Wendy Alice Scrooge

. All names that are pretty much interchangeable.

Adventure Nieve Cruel

When I was new to writing I was obsessed with creating these perfect manifestations of what was in my mind. Crafting the land, the pacing of the plot and finally names that would be added to that famous list up there someday. By the time I finished working it all out I was burnt out and over it all. It didn't work for me. Some people still struggle and I know everyone has a method and whatever that is you should stick to that method until it doesn't work for you anymore.

The only rule I think you need to remember is time. Where is your story set? The modern word needs modern names. Classics need classics and aliens need kitten walking across the keyboard weird. Keep that one rule at the top of your checklist and everything else will work out just fine.
